Were you one of the lucky ones to see Kevin Kline and Linda Ronstadt in The Pirates of Penzance at Central Park's Delacourt Theater years ago?  Perhaps you have seen the DVD version of this madcap operetta.

If you would like to introduce your children to light opera, be sure to attend the child-friendly performance of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance at the Pequot Library on Saturday, September 17, at 2 p.m.  Six costumed singers from the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players will sing and dance the characters of pirates, policemen, a pompous Major General and his beautiful daughters.  This ensemble has been regaling audiences for over 30 years with thirteen complete versions of the most popular operettas.

This free concert program is part of the Young Persons’ Concert series. sponsored by Music for Youth and is recommended for children aged five to seventeen.
