Staff of The WorkPlace, one of five Connecticut Workforce Development Boards, will discuss their Platform to Employment (P2E) program. The WorkPlace won an innovation award for this program, featured on 60 Minutes, which supports the long-term unemployed who have exhausted their unemployment benefits.

  • The increasingly important role of leadership
  • Metrics and collaborative management in non-profits
  • Repositioning (or positioning) your resume and cover letter, and
  • How to switch from “corporate speak” to “non-profit speak.”

The database formerly known as Business & Company Resource Center has been redesigned to be easier to use, while remaining robust. 

You can find company fundamentals, investment research reports, industry rankings, market share data, and more in this online service.  To use it from home, all you need is your library card number, which you enter when prompted.  Thanks to funding from the State of Connecticut, this database is available from home to each Connecticut resident with a library card from his or her home town library.

If you need market research for a business plan, your consulting business, to identify prospects, or as part of your job search, try the new Plunkett Research database provided by Westport Library.  It is available to all, free of charge, on library computers.  Westport residents may also use it from home by entering their library card numbers when prompted.
