The Mix-It-Up Tour is a one-night-only high-energy fundraising dance party on behalf of the Westport Library. Westport’s own WAZA, one of the hottest cover bands around, headed up by Westporter Marty Jaramillo, will take the stage in the Library’s remarkable Forum to crank out some of the most memorable tunes from artists like the Rolling Stones, to Bon Jovi, to Journey and everything in between.
While you dance, enjoy cocktails and bites by Marcia Selden Catering and check out an exclusive, rock 'n' roll-inspired silent art auction featuring artists Irene Penny, Stephen Goldstein, Kerry Heftman and Mark Rich. Multimedia artist, Holly Danger, will also perform a video art show on the Library’s 18' video wall. Proceeds from ticket sales and a portion of the rock n’ roll-inspired art auction will go directly to the Library.
Here is what the event creators, Irene Penny and Library Board of Trustees member Sivan Hong, have to say about this incredible night:
Sivan: Irene, what made you think about throwing a rock concert at the Library?
Irene: The Library is the hub of our community and center of downtown. What better place for a party? The Forum is the perfect hot spot for a rock concert and art show. Not only is it a great opportunity for a fun night out with your friends but also a chance to help our town’s Library.
Sivan: And the artists and musicians? How are they connected?
Irene: Unlike a solo exhibit, this event is a huge local collaborative effort for both musicians and artists. We are all excited to raise money for programming at the Library and supporting our community. This is Westport at its best!
Sivan: The Mix-It-Up-Tour is just a really fun night that happens to be helping the Library. What else do people need to know?
Irene: You can grab your tickets at online here. Stay connected with us on social media to get sneak peeks of the artwork before the auction goes live. And of course, book your sitter now!
