The Hunger Games, Part II: Catching Fire
The country of Panem is on the verge of revolution. The Capitol’s authority is utterly crushing, and the people are desperate. The Hunger Games—in which teen “tributes” from each district fight to the death—have become more intense, more violent, more deadly. Witnessing the games is mandatory for all Panem residents.
The Hunger Games return to the Westport Library with a reenactment of the second film of the trilogy, Catching Fire, which premiers in November. Tributes in grades 6-12 will enter the Library’s Great Hall, transformed into the Capitol of Panem, to compete in (safe) live-action survival games, hopefully with the odds in their favor!
Participating teens can also expect:
* Snacks and a visit from Shake Shack (official flavor for the night: caramel-pretzel flavored President Snow Custard
* Music and a DJ
* District-themed activities
* A chance to compete for prizes in costume contest
* A chance to compete for prizes throughout the evening, including movie tickets and prizes from Matsu Sushi and Shake Shack
Costumes are encouraged but not required. Register online or at the door. $15. Capacity for the event is 150 people.
