Cookbook Club: Compassionate Cuisine: 125 Plant-Based Recipes

Join Chef Linda Soper-Kolton for a taste of a delicious plant-based recipe from her new cookbook, Compassionate Cuisine: 125 Plant-Based Recipes from Our Vegan Kitchen. Interwoven with the recipes, the book tells the story of one of the country's oldest animal sanctuaries, the Catskill Animal Sanctuary, through its food. Their award-winning vegan culinary program is designed to show how easy and delicious it is to cook without using animal products. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Linda Soper-Kolton graduated from the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts, with a certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a holistic health coach. Linda went to the Sanctuary in 2012 as a guest chef, intending to teach Compassionate Cuisine cooking classes for a season before returning to her vegetarian and vegan café in Fairfield. Lured by the magic of the sanctuary, Linda stayed to lead and grow the Culinary program, inspiring and educating with love, patience and delicious food. Six years later, she continues to cook, teach, write, and kiss pigs.
