An exhibit of Westport photographer Richard Frank’s personal and commercial work, spanning his ongoing fascination with photography from analog to digital. Join the discussion of his work with Artist-in-Residence and illustrator/photographer Miggs Burroughs on Monday, October 24 at 6 pm in the Great Hall. Hear Frank—a real raconteur—talk about his work, including his seminal photo of Muhammad Ali, which helped validate his decision to pursue photography as a career.

Frank's career in photography was originally triggered by a chance, last-minute decision to take a photography class in his last semester of college. He went on to enroll in an MFA program at Ohio University, but his stay was cut short by the Draft. Even so, while at OU, he had learned the essence of the craft of photography, started establishing his point of view, and began identifying the American social landscape and portraiture as his preferred subjects.

Artist reception: Friday, October 14 from 6-7:30 pm. Light refreshments served.
