Andrea Graziano, Director of College Advising at International College Counselors, addresses the issues surrounding the overhaul of the grading system at Staples High School for the Class of 2021 and beyond. The controversial decision to eliminate the weighted grading system for AP and Honors classes could result in lower GPAs for students who take challenging classes. What does this mean for your student – and their chances of getting into their dream school? 

Middle school age & up

Andrea Graziano is a Director of College Advising at International College Counselors in Connecticut. She graduated with honors from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and received a Master’s Degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She is an award-winning reporter, writer and editor. Ms. Graziano has spent several years working with high school students brainstorming, crafting and editing their college admissions essays, making them one of the strongest components of their college applications. Before joining International College Counselors, Ms. Graziano was the Chief Content Officer for Daily Voice, a network of hyper local news sites covering New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. She was also a trainer and consultant for TAPInto, working closely with young writers to help them improve their skills.
