Following a brief introduction to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychologist Melville M. Francis, PsyD, will address how parents of children with learning challenges can be supportive without being over-accommodating. A major focus will be on balancing ongoing school work with other life demands.

Dr. Melville M. Francis is a staff psychologist at Cognitive & Behavioral Consultants of Manhattan/Westchester and has been trained in evidence-based approaches including DBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). She is also a certified school psychologist and has helped implement evidence-based programing in public school districts in Westchester County as part of her training.
