Jane AustenJoin us for a celebration of Jane Austen on the 200th anniversary year of Pride and Prejudice. Author Rachel Brownstein, professor of English at Brooklyn College and the CUNY Graduate Center, speaks about her book, Why Jane Austen? at 2 pm. In it, she considers constructions of Jane Austen as a heroine, moralist, satirist, romantic, woman, and author as well as the changing notions of these categories.

The discussion will be followed by refreshments and the interactive game Who Wants to be a Duchess? (with prizes). Co-sponsored with Jane Austen Society of North America, Connecticut Chapter.
