Pop-up Painting Party

Tuesday, Jun 27, 2017 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

By late May, the McManus Room's vaunted "Black & White Collection" of art will be packed for storage offsite during the Library’s renovation, which starts August 1. Join the Pop-up Painting Party with the Library's Artist-in-Residence Miggs Burroughs and Exhibits Curator Chris Timmons on Tuesday, June 27, to paint your own masterpiece in one of 50 "frames" sketched out on the now-blank McManus Room walls―wine, light refreshments, music and supplies will be provided. NO art experience needed to join in the party. At the end of the night, pose for a selfie with your masterpiece! The exhibit will be featured in an online gallery, and some will even appear in this year’s Annual Report. The exhibit will be on display in the McManus Room until it is closed for construction in late July.

Reserve your paintbrush and make a $125 contribution to the Library's Transformation Project; limited to 50 adults (painters can bring an "apprentice"/guest for an additional $50, or $175 total per frame). Space is limited. For questions, contact Rachel Reese at rreese [at] westportlibrary [dot] org or 203.291.4855.
