Teen: Maker Mondays
Please note time change for this program!
Come to the Library on Monday afternoons to hang out and geek out. Each Maker Monday will feature a different hands-on, creative activity, such as stop-motion animation, tinkering, and making cool stuff. Workshops will be held on Mondays from
3-4:30PM (NEW TIME FOR THIS INSTALLMENT: 4:30-6PM) in the Seminar Room starting Monday, November 18th and running through Monday, December 16th. Register online for each workshop. Join anytime. Each week's workshop will be announced the week before. For grades 6-9.
On December 2nd, join us for Light-Up Postcards: Just in time for the holiday season, learn how to build light up postcards that use an LED and a simple circuit that you build to create a unique, memorable greeting card.
This workshop will be taught by Josh Burker. Josh Burker facilitates constructionist technology projects for students in Kindergarten through fifth grade at an independent school in Fairfield County, CT. A LEGOmaniac since Kindergarten, Josh enjoys building robots that make art, composing music that some describe as beepy, and designing objects to 3D print. He hopes you will join him at his workshops to work on hard fun projects that will teach you new skills and get you thinking in new directions.
This series is free and is funded by a grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services.
