WestportREADS: UConn Professor Leads Discussion of The Great Gatsby
Join The Westport Library, UConn Alumni Association, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the Neag School of Education in a faculty-led book discussion on the Spring, 2013 UConn Reads selection The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Leading us through a seminar-style discussion about the book will be Assistant Professor and Writing Coordinator in the Department of English, Kathy Knapp, PhD. Professor Knapp's specialties include 20th-Century American Literature and Ethnic American Literature.
Special Opportunity: Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald lived in Westport briefly in 1920, and to celebrate their time here, former SHS English teacher Dr. Gerry Kuroghlian will give a talk about their experience in town. Twenty lucky winners will be chosen in a drawing to attend the February 2 talk, which will be at the house the Fitzgeralds rented on South Compo Road. You will receive an opportunity to enter the drawing at each WestportREADS event attended.
WestportREADS is funded by Jerry A. Tishman.
