YA authors Jennifer Mathieu and Micol Ostow will discuss their new works exploring feminist themes and featuring powerful female protagonists.
Matthieu’s new book Moxie follows a reluctant teenager who starts a feminist revolution at her small-town Texas high school. Ostow is the author of Mean Girls, a novelization of the hit film by Tina Fey.
The talk will be followed by a zine-making workshop.
Jennifer Mathieu is the author of Devoted, Afterward and The Truth About Alice, the winner of the Children's Choice Book Awards' Teen Choice Debut Author Award. She teaches high school English in Texas, where she lives in the Houston area with her husband and son.
Micol Ostow is the author of the critically-acclaimed young adult novel Emily Goldberg Learns to Salsa, as well as 30 Guys in 30 Days, Gettin Lucky and Crush du Jour. She lives and votes in New York City.
