WestportWRITES: Scrivener Writing Software 101—Part I

Monday, Sep 26, 2016 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

WestportWRITES is a comprehensive new program designed to guide writers through all stages of publishing and to offer year-long support of National Novel Writing Month entries. The first class in this series is a two-part introduction (9/26 & 9/28) to Scrivener Writing Software, taught by author Chris Friden. Scrivener is a powerful content-generation tool for writers that allows you to concentrate on composing and structuring long and difficult documents. While it gives you complete control of the formatting, its focus is on helping you get to the end of that awkward first draft.

In a varied creative career, telling a good story has always been the thing for Chris Friden. While attending the University of California, Berkeley, Chris co-edited the Pelican Lampoon. Upon graduation, he directed television commercials and both developed and co-hosted a national, sports television show for which he won an Emmy Award. He later founded A Good Seed Production and served as Senior Creative Director on large-scale corporate productions. Chris now lives in Connecticut where he works as a creative consultant while writing children’s books; developing television and film concepts; and publishing games through his company Rubbing Hands. The Student Code is the working title for his debut YA manuscript. Chris also teaches at the Fairfield County Writers' Studio in Westport, CT.
