Writing 101: Introductory Course for Fiction and Non-Fiction
Do you aspire to write and or are you a writer who wants to improve your craft? Mary-Lou Weisman, bestselling author, journalist and screenwriter, offers a six-session workshop that includes instruction, writing exercises and collaboration. The sessions will be Thursdays, July 10-August 21, 9:30-11 am in the Sheffer Reading Room. Register online; limited to 10 paricipants. Materials fee, $15.
Weisman has written two memoirs, a biography and a humor book. As an adjunct professor, she has taught writing, both memoir and personal essay, at The New School, New York University, Manhattanville College, and at both Westport and Norwalk Continuing Education programs.
Note: A second course, "Writing from Life," will be offered in the fall. This more advanced course will focus exclusively on memoir and the personal essay.
