Searchable site of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Search the Patent Full-Text & Image Databases page for full-text since 1976 and full-page images since 1790 as well as patent applications since March 15, 2001. The Trademark Database provides comprehensive information on federal registered and pending trademarks as well as laws, manuals, patent & trademark depository libraries, applications and more.

Canadian Patent & Trademark Database
"This database lets you access over 75 years of patent descriptions and images. You can search, retrieve and study more than 1,400,000 patent documents." Patent documents are available from 1920 to the present and text of the abstracts and claims back to 1978. Updated regularly. From the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO).

Intellectual Property Network (Delphion)
Access to the bibliographic data and text of all claims of all patents issued by the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) from 1971 to present. Updated approximately every two weeks. In addition, you can get images from 1974 to present. Now includes databases of patents from the European Patent Office EPA and EPB patents and World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) PCT text and images.

InventNET - The Inventor's Network
Run by a nonprofit group of independent inventors, this site has advice on everything from patent law and software to marketing your invention: classified ads, a newsletter, an online forum, Web links, and inventions for sale.

LSU Patent & Trademark Resources

Patent Cafe
An all-encompassing site for intellectual property, patent, and invention resources. Includes links to how-to information; patent searching; invention groups; government agencies; and famous, women, and black inventors. There are chat groups, magazines, and book sources. The Inventive Kids Cafe includes science experiments and projects, as well as inventor-related resources. Searchable.
