DAN BROWN
The author of Da Vinci Code, Brown has also written Angels & Demons, Deception Point and Digital Fortress. Find out more about Brown and his interests on his website: http://www.danbrown.com/

ANNE TYLER

Everyone is reading Amateur Marriage. Tyler is a prolific writer of family and psychological fiction often set in Baltimore where she lives. Some past favorites: Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant, Accidental Tourist, Ladder of Years and Saint Maybe.
JOHN GRISHAM
The man of many books - most of them legal thrillers, but an occasional family story appears among his prodigious output. The latest two are Bleachers- about football and The Last Juror, which took him 15 years to write. Usually he writes a book in six months!
ALICE HOFFMAN
Hoffman excels with atmospheric stories of women's lives - often touched with magic. Probable Future was her last; we have ordered her new one, Blackbird House, due out this summer. For her story of passion set in the mysterious festival of lanterns on Nantucket, try Illumination Night. For more on Hoffman: http://www.alicehoffman.com/
BARBARA DELINSKY
Teller of women's stories, her latest The Summer I Dared is about a moment that changes lives forever. About a boating accident, it was inspired by 9-11. Delinsky's homepage is chatty and friendly: http://www.barbaradelinsky.com/
NATHANIEL HAWTHORNE
Born one hundred years ago and still beguiling fans of the classics with The Scarlet Letter and House of Seven Gables, among others.
HENRY JAMES
Another favorite of those who love the classics, James was a wealthy New Yorker who wrote twenty novels before his death in 1916. Daisy Miller, Portrait of a Lady and Washington Square are his well-known works.
