AGATHA
Named for Agatha Christie, the AGATHA is awarded annually by the attendees of the Malice Domestic Mystery Convention for traditional mystery writing "best typified by the works of Agatha Christie."
ANTHONY
The ANTHONY is awarded annually by the attendees of the Bouchercon World Mystery Convention in memory of mystery writer and critic William Anthony Parker White (a.k.a. Anthony Boucher).
BARRY
The BARRY is awarded for books selected by readers of Deadly Pleasures magazine. It is named in honor of long-time fan Barry Gardner.
DILYS
The DILYS Award is presented each year in recognition of the new title that the Independent Mystery Booksellers Association "most enjoyed selling." It is named after the first mystery specialty bookseller, Dilys Winn, founder of Murder Ink.
EDGAR
The Edgar Allan Poe Award, popularly known as the EDGAR, is awarded each year by the Mystery Writers of America, which was founded in 1945 "to increase the esteem and literary recognition" of the mystery genre.
GOLD DAGGER

The GOLD DAGGER is awarded to the year’s best mystery or crime novel by the Crime Writer’s Association, which is based in the UK but has members in the US, Europe and around the world.  Became known as the DUNCAN LAWRIE award in 2006.

HAMMETT
The HAMMETT Award is named in honor of Dashiell Hammett, and is given annually by the North American Branch of the International Association of Crime Writers to reward excellence in the genre of crime literature.
LEFTY
The LEFTY Award is awarded by the attendees of the Left Coast Crime Convention for the funniest mystery novel of the year.
MACAVITY
The MACAVITY Award is named for the "mystery cat" of T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. Each year the members of Mystery Readers International nominate and vote for their favorite mysteries in four categories.
NERO WOLFE
Named for Rex Stout's detective, the NERO WOLFE award is given for literary excellence in the mystery genre by the Wolfe Pack, an organization for enjoyment and discussion of the 72 Nero Wolfe books and short stories.
SHAMUS
The SHAMUS Award is presented by the Private Eye Writers of America (PWA) to honor excellence in the private eye genre of mystery writing.
