“I love our Library. It provides the soul of downtown in many ways.”
The Westport Library is supported by the public/private partnership between the Town and individual donors. Support from the generosity of donors ensures that the Library can continue to provide the excellent service and exceptional programming the community expects.
The Westport Library Association is a registered 501(c)(3) cultural institution. Gifts are fully deductible under federal tax regulations. Donations are accepted on-line using major credit cards on our safe and secure web portal. The Library does not share donor information.
The Westport Library is only as strong as its community of support. There are many ways to contribute to the Library, including:
The Annual Fund supports the programs, materials and services that keep the Library at the center of the community’s intellectual life. Gifts at all levels are welcome. Your generous contribution to the Library helps fund the book collections, online databases, children’s and teen programs, new technology and more.
Honor someone with a gift to the Library. Tribute gifts may be made for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. Gifts in memory of loved ones are also fitting tributes. Books or other materials may be designated, and the Library will provide acknowledgement to the honoree or family of the honoree.
The Westport Library accepts the transfer of appreciated securities directly from you or from your broker. With tax advantages for the donor, many individuals have provided gifts to the Library through a gift of appreciated securities.
You can provide for a future gift to the Library now by including a bequest provision in your will or revocable trust. If you let us know of your plans, we'd like to include you in the Morris Jesup Society which recognizes those who have included the Library in their estate plans.
There are many opportunities for becoming involved in the Westport Library, from a committment at a book sale to on-going participation in various committees. Find out more.
Friends of the Library sponsors three book sales a year - March, July and December. Volunteers are needed to sort donated books during the year and work at the book sale. For more information.
