Ever since I moved to this town with my family 13 years ago the library has figured in and been an integral part of every phase of our lives. More than any individual school or store or theater or park, the library of Westport has been there for the Lowman family.

BOOKED for the evening is the Library's signature fundraising event. On this occasion, the Library honors an individual whose work reflects the purpose of the Library—to nurture the love of learning and to enhance our understanding of the world.
Michael Ross of the Westport Country Playhouse served as narrator and New Yorker music critic Sasha Frere-Jones was a presenter. Music made famous by Nile Rodgers was performed by Keith Robinson, guitarist; Jessie Wagner, vocalist; Tony Lewis, drums; Lenny Underwood, keyboard; Billy Grant, bass and vocals; and Carleigh Jade, vocalist.
