The library is excited to welcome preeminent lawyer Alan Neigher to discuss Freedom of Speech (and other myths): A Short History of the US Government’s Restrictions of Expression.
Since the founding of our Republic, our Government has imposed sweeping restrictions on the public's ability to freely communicate. This discussion will review those restrictions, including federal and state legislation and cultural censorship.

Alan Neigher has practiced law in Westport since 1980. A graduate of Colby College and Boston College Law School, he specializes in media and entertainment.
