Join us for a screening of the new short film, Harbor by Westport's own Margot Bruce.
Katherine has a happy life on land with her wife, Billie. When Katherine's lover, Isolde, leaves the sea to visit the couple, everyone's trust and commitment is put to the test as they must decide if it is possible to live in more than one world. Harbor offers a modern twist on the selkie stories from Celtic, Gaelic, and Norse folklore.
Margot Bruce grew up in Westport, and graduated from Staples High School in 2011. She was a member of the Lady Wreckers swimming and water polo teams. Candlelight kept her busy as a member of the band, orchestra, and chorus. She discovered her passion for filmmaking when she took courses at Fairfield University and graduated from the College of Wooster with a B.A. in English in 2015. She has just completed an M.F.A in Cinema at San Francisco State University.
Her creative world was shaped by the loss of her brother Cameron in 2010. She also draws inspiration from her queer identity, her feminism, her love of the ocean, and a lifelong fascination with fairy tales.
