Imagine This: Art Applied To A Purpose

Mon, January 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm EST

Westporter Mark Yurkiw, an astrophysicist turned “artrepreneur,” discusses art applied to problem-solving, bringing together science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) to inspire business innovation. Register online.

The Westport Library is co-sponsor of these meetings of FairCo TEEM (Technology, Environment, Entertainment, Marketing), a group of entrepreneurs whose meetings consist of a networking session, followed by a brief talk, and then more networking.

Mark Yurkiw is a Westport resident and a New York City scientist and artist who creates storytelling sculptures and numerous projects for Fortune 500 clients and their advertising and marketing agencies. His work centers on visual input and visualization of ideas. Major works include the solar-powered firefly sculpture that lights the conservatory rooftop of the Liberty Science Museum in New York Harbor, Think 3D Lab for Make-a-Wish Foundation of Connecticut and the iconic freezing, huddled Statue of Liberty image he created for the New York Cares Coat Drive.
