Jhonny Parks is a writer, director, animator, video editor, and graphic designer. He was born in Stamford, Connecticut, and moved to the town of Bethel where he currently resides. Since a very young child, he was interested in the field of visual arts, filling up sketch pads with characters from his imagination. He always wished that there were a way to have the ability to digitize his work and edit it with a computer. Jhonny took his first graphic design class in his senior year of high school. This is when he fell in love with Adobe Photoshop.
He would later enroll at Gibbs College in Norwalk, Connecticut, majoring in graphic design. This is where he received a degree in visual communications in 2008. Soon after, he started working with clients all around the world, providing high end graphics for musicians, films, websites, as well as a variety of other platforms. After designing still graphics for some time, he wanted to add movement to his images. It wasn’t long after this, that Jhonny started investing his time into learning video editing software, starting with Adobe Premiere Pro, as well as Adobe After Effects. At around this time, he also started diving into the field of stop motion animation. Jhonny currently has been involved in two award winning films, “What The Mouse”, and “White Man’s Curse”.
Over the past 5 years, Jhonny has been teaching the art of stop motion animation and filmmaking through various school systems and libraries across Fairfield County, Connecticut. He decided to start a video production company, What A Production. he still continues to write, direct, and shoot short films. Recently he has been involved in directing and filming several music videos for a variety of musicians across Connecticut and New York.
