Summer should be about having FUN. More than ever, kids need to try new things, explore, learn in the real world, and meet and interact with friends. Summer Distance Learning Clubs do just that. Students will directly interact with their peers and teachers through a variety of technology platforms. The clubs focus on real life learning, our small group instruction will be provided in a 1:4 teacher to student ratio. We will begin as a whole group and then “breakout” into “rooms” with fewer students to provide more personalized instruction and discussion. The groups are facilitated by experienced K-8 certified teachers.
This group will meet weekly to explore the intersection of science, technology, engineering, art and math. Using the Next Generation Science Standards as a framework we will explore our world while using everyday materials. Students will be sent a supply list before each session so we can work together on a scientific inquiry. During each session students will explore and discuss an original phenomena and pose investigatable questions, theories and hypotheses.
Students will be encouraged to continue their exploration independently after each session.
