In honor of LGBTQ+ Pride month in June and our commitment to inclusivity and celebrating diversity within our communities, The Westport Library is proud to host Seeing Gender: A Community Conversation on Expressions of Identity.

The event begins with an author talk and discussion with Mady G., (they/he) a gender non-conforming cartoonist, illustrator and designer and co-creator of A Quick and Easy Guide to Queer and Trans Identity. The conversation continues with a panel discussion with Mady G. and local educators and activists in the LGBTQ+ community:
Anna Burns - (she/they) social activist, MSc in Psychology of Mental Health, MA in Social Anthropology and Community Educator at Triangle Community Center in Norwalk, CT
Alanna Kennedy - (she/her) transgender woman, volunteer for the Triangle Community Center and proud Board member of Free Mom Hugs, a group of affirming parents and allies who support the LGBTQ+ community unconditionally
Kathy Steffens – (she/her) President of PFLAG (Norwalk CT chapter), the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ family and ally association, committed to creating a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued and affirmed.
