The Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce and Westport Library are pleased to announce a debate featuring candidates for the office of State Representative to be held on Tuesday October 6th, at noon.
Over the past six years, the Chamber and Library have held candidate debates focused on business and economic issues in person. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic this year’s events will be held utilizing Zoom.
The debate on October 6th will feature incumbent Representative Jonathan Steinberg (D) and challenger Chip Stephens (R) vying for the 136th district as well as Stephanie Thomas (D) and Patrizia Zucaro (R) who are running for Gail Lavielle's seat in the 143rd district. Ms. Lavielle announced her retirement earlier this year.
Initial questions will be gathered from the Board of Directors of the Chamber. Additional questions will be solicited from the public through the Zoom chat feature.
