This workshop is a hands-on experience with the workshop leaders, so the workshop is limited to 25 participants. Ideally participants can attend all three sessions (Sundays, October 13, 20 & 27 from 2-4 pm). For ages teen & up. Registration is required.
Stories are the foundation of all our communication. They spark emotion and help us find the commonalities in our shared human experiences and to connect more meaningfully to one another. We all have them. And, whether big or small, all of our stories matter.
Your Stories Matter: The Art of Storytelling 101 provides the resources needed to begin to shape the experiences of your life into captivating stories and to gain the confidence needed to share them with others. Workshop leaders Kerry Gawreluk and Will Diaz teach the essential building blocks of effective stories, the differences between crafting a story for the page versus the stage, as well as public speaking and performance tips to increase confidence and authenticity and help engage and inspire your listeners. The workshop includes plenty of time for writing, constructive feedback, practice storytelling and group discussion in a relaxed, supportive environment.
