The excitement doesn't end with our ribbon-cutting! We are so excited to invite the community to celebrate the completion of the Transformation Project! Through July 22nd, we are hosting 30 Days of the Westport Library campaign and each day we will highlight a different space, amenity, feature and collection in the transformed space. Come in, explore and have fun! 

Sunday, June 23 Opening Day Celebrate your new spaces and services!
Monday, June 24 HUB Did you know your Westport Library card gets you access to a treasure trove of materials and content here in the Library and online? Stop by the Library today, sign up for a card and take it out for a test drive in our brand new building. Plus, enjoy giveaways all day long!
Tuesday, June 25 CAFE

The new Library Café is stocked with all sorts of yummy new treats. Come by and try free samples at 11 am, 2 pm and 4 pm!

Plus, check out two items from the Library today and show your receipt for a free cup of joe! 
Wednesday, June 26 FORUM
Join us in the Forum for morning cartoons at 9 a.m. and a special treat--donuts--from Donut Crazy! Stay for a Community Conversation with with State Senator Will Haskell, State Senator Tony Hwang and State Representative Jonathan Steinberg at 7 pm.
Thursday, June 27 LAPTOPS ANYTIME
The Westport Library has always been a hub for students, businesses and community groups. Now, we have even more support for you with our laptop vending machine. Come by for one-on-one demo anytime today! 
Friday, June 28 ART GALLERIES Enjoy a short film on the historic Black & White collection at the Library (5 pm), as well as an opening reception for the exhibit of paintings by Michael Brennecke.
Saturday, June 29 CHILDREN'S LIBRARY Sign up for summer reading, enjoy crafts and explore the new Children's Library!
Sunday, June 30 THE DECK
Chill out with an iced coffee and some jazz on the Library Café's new outdoor deck with Portal at 1pm.  
Play games outdoors and enjoy the sunshine and views along the Riverwalk from 1-3 p.m.
Tuesday, July 2 WRITING CENTER
Join WestportWRITES and the Fairfield Scribes for readings from their brand-new anthology, Imagining Monsters: A Collection of Short Stories Inspired by Frankenstein. All proceeds benefit the Westport Library.
Wednesday, July 3 DIGITAL DAY
On the go for the holiday weekend? Take the Library with you thanks to our outstanding digital collection! Our team has put together a list of some of the best beach reads this year. A drive-in movie inside? You bet! Make your own car at noon and "drive" it to the kids' movie at 1 pm that follows. We'll be showing Pee Wee's Big Adventure!
Westport’s own Renaissance man David Pogue will be performing THIS Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Forum! Come see the New York Times Tech Columnist and musician playing our new Yamaha Disklavier, putting his own twist on classic tunes while poking a bit of fun at the tech industry. Don’t miss it!

Need a metal detector? Your Library of Things has you covered. How about a giant Jenga game? Yeah. We've got that, too. Hey, how about a kayak? Funny you should ask. At 1 pm, join our friends at PakaYak for a demonstration of our brand-new (and checkout-able!) kayak.

Wednesday, July 10 ART EXHIBIT Learn about digital photography and then attend the opening reception for photographer Dick Frank, who chronicled the transformation process.

A last minute birthday gift, a gift for the hostess with the mostess or a fun and funky find just for you, the Library Store has a little bit of everything. Come by and take a peek for yourself. 
Friday, July 12 MULTIMEDIA STUDIOS Our new studios are incredibly versatile. Stop by for a quick tour. Join a Pop-Up Podcast and share what you love about the Library.
Saturday, July 13 FAMILY FUN DAY
Celebrate the work of the world’s greatest playwright in the Library’s first Family Summer Series event, “Shakespeare!”
Sunday, July 14 TODDLER TREEHOUSE & HIGGINS ROOM Special read-to-me times, including Miss Mary's Storytime at 1:30 pm. Westport Police Chief Foti will also be on hand between 1 & 2 pm for a story and play time.
Get out and enjoy the sunshine at the new Jesup Green entrance! Games, sweets and treats and loads of fun for the whole family! Plus, some fun surprises!
Join three top thriller writers — Liv Constantine, Wendy Walker and Kimberly Belle — for a panel discussion about the thriller genre as well as their latest works.

In the morning, the MakerSpace plays host to Horizons summer camp for a STEM experience. And be sure to stop by the MakerSpace to check out our new digs, or book time on a 3D printer or our CNC router!

The Westport Library partners with TEAMWestport to present a screening of the documentary Let the People Decide by director/producer Gavin Guerra.
