Book Sales & Donations

Book Sales

Westport Library Book Sales are a long-standing community tradition, powered by a dedicated team of volunteers, and raising invaluable support for the Library annually. Each year, generous patrons donate tens of thousands of used books for resale to benefit the Library.

The Library's Book Sales are operated by Westport Book Sale Ventures, an independent non-profit enterprise with the dual social mission to support the Westport Library, while providing meaningful employment for adults with disabilities. For more information, visit

Bring donations to the big gray Book Donation Center in the Library’s Upper Parking Lot.

For details about how to donate your books, and what materials are accepted for donation, please visit the Book Sale’s website at A receipt acknowledging your donation for tax purposes will be available at the time of donation.

Please, do not leave book donations on the ground outside the Book Donation Center. Unfortunately, any materials left outside will be recycled, not resold, due to exposure to the elements.

We are very grateful to our generous community of readers and book donors, and we thank you for your support.
