Family Fun Series: Shakespeare!

Saturday, Jul 13, 2019 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Celebrate the work of the world’s greatest playwright in the Library’s first Family Summer Series event, “Shakespeare!”

The day kicks off with Shakespeare-themed MakerSpace activities. Make your own Coat of Arms/Heraldic Banner. Create your own Shakespeare poetry (and insults) with the magnetic Shakespeare wall.

Then at 2 pm, The Shakespeare Guyz, a New Jersey-based performing arts company, will take over the Forum for a fun, family-friendly comedy theatre performance that makes Shakespeare accessible to all.

At 3 p.m., Elm Shakespeare Company’s Producing Artistic Director Rebecca Goodheart will lead a talk and demonstration about Shakespeare’s language and how modern actors handle it.

The day concludes with a Shakespeare talk for adult audiences in the Komansky Room.

The Library’s Family Fun Series offers an afternoon of experiential programming designed to engage every member of the family.
