Isabel Cañas is the author of The Hacienda, published by Berkley in the Spring of 2022. She is a Mexican-American speculative fiction writer and graduate of the Clarion West Writers Workshop. A PhD candidate studying medieval Islamic literature, Isabel has lived in Mexico, Scotland, Egypt, Turkey, and Jordan. She has settled in New York City, where she works on her dissertation and writes fiction inspired by her research and her heritage.
