The Westport Library and the League of Women Voters of Connecticut and local Leagues of Women Voters from towns throughout the 4th Congressional District, announced today that a debate will be held between the candidates.
The debate between incumbent Congressman Jim Himes(D) and Jonathan Riddle(R) will be moderated by Kay Maxwell.
Please register for the debate being live-streamed from the Trefz Forum at the Westport Library.
Constituents will be able to submit written questions after registering and up to the day of debate. Consistent with League guidelines, constituent questions will be screened by the League (one screener from each major party) for clarity, non-duplication, and applicability to both candidates.

The League of Women Voters of Westport and the Westport Library will hold a debate for candidates for the state Senate and House of Representatives.
This is a virtual event, please register.
The event will include candidates for State Senate D26 Kim Healy (R) and Will Haskell (D) as well as State Senate D28 Tony Hwang (R) and Michelle McCabe (D).
Joining from the House of Representatives race will be Stephanie Thomas (D) and Patrizia Zucaro (R) for the 143rd Assembly District and Chip Stevens (R) and Jonathan Steinberg (D) for the 136th Assembly District.
Candidates will have the opportunity to give brief comments, as well as respond to questions collected by email and read by the moderator in keeping with Covid-19 safety restrictions.
