The Staples High School Guidance Department and The Westport Library are pleased to present, “Making Sense of College Admissions - A Conversation with Jeff Selingo.”
Jeff Selingo is an expert in the field of higher education and the author of two New York Times bestsellers, There is Life After College and College (Un)bound. Jeff is also a contributor to The Atlantic and The Washington Post, as well as a special advisor for innovation at Arizona State University. He is the former top editor of the Chronicle of Higher Education and co-hosts the podcast, FutureU.
As both an observer of higher education and an insider with academic appointments at two prominent universities, Jeff occupies a unique position to offer insight into complicated aspects of the college admissions process. Jeff’s most recent book, Who Gets In & Why: A Year Inside College Admissions, was published in September and details the selection process of three admissions offices, revealing what really matters - and how the ultimate decision is often based on a college’s unique priorities.
Please join us for this exciting opportunity to hear Jeff speak about his insights and experiences and to ask your questions about college admissions. This event will be recorded. A link to the recording will be shared with Staples students and families.
