What is Mixing?

The first step in audio post-production, mixing is the process by which multiple sounds are combined into one track. In the process, a source's volume level, frequency content, dynamics, and panoramic position are manipulated or enhanced.

What is Mastering?

Mastering is the final step of audio post-production. The purpose of mastering is to balance sonic elements of a stereo or mono mix and optimize playback across all systems and media formats (think stereo, Bluetooth speaker, car, phone). Traditionally, mastering is done using tools like equalization, compression, limiting and stereo enhancement.
