Westport Library Café associate
Join the friendly and talented staff who contribute to the Westport Library being a cutting-edge Library. We are seeking new Café team members who are honest, self-motivated, and reliable with positive attitudes and superior customer service skills.
We are looking for additional baristas to work some afternoon and weekend shifts and Café associates with ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification for morning shifts to work mostly during weekdays (with an occasional weekend shift). These are both part-time positions working up to 19.5 hours per week. Schedules might change from month to month depending on staff availability.
Applicants must be comfortable with POS payment systems and possess the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Prior café experience and espresso bar knowledge preferred, but training will be provided.
The Café serves a selection of baked goods, snacks, salads, and sandwiches in addition to a variety of drinks including espressos, lattes, and specialty drinks.
In addition to preparing drinks, serving food and processing payments on the POS, all Café team members are required to clean and sanitize surfaces and equipment and restock the Café, as needed. Café Associates with Food Safety Manager certification will also prepare some sandwiches and salads. The job requires standing for extended periods of time and strength to lift and carry heavy stock items up to 40 lbs. (like cases of water). The starting salary is $15.00 per hour plus tips.
