The Big Spring Book Sale will be held Friday, May 16, through Monday, May 19.
The Book Sale offers something for everyone, with thousands of gently used books in more than 50 categories, including books for children from infants to teens; literature and classics; fiction, mystery, and SciFi and fantasy; graphic novels and manga; art, photography, history, math, science, psychology, religion, biography, business, cooking, gardening, performing arts, travel, foreign language, education, reference, and more, including Noteworthy, especially antiquarian books. Plus vintage vinyl records, DVDs and CDs.
Please note: the Donation Center will be closed from Monday, May 5, through Wednesday, May 21, in connection with the Big Spring Book Sale.
Your donation of very gently used books, vinyl records, and other media may be made Monday through Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm. We will be closed Sundays and any day the Library is closed.
Bring donations to the big gray Book Donation Center in the Library’s Upper Parking Lot.
In order to not overwhelm our hard-working book donation center volunteers, and to give us time to process your donations properly, please try to limit your donations to not more than five cartons of books per day. If you have a large donation that you can not parse out over several days, please call 203-952-0070 in advance.
For details about how to donate your books, and what materials are accepted for donation, please visit the Book Sale’s website at www.westportbooksales.org. A receipt acknowledging your donation for tax purposes will be available at the time of donation.
Please, do not leave book donations on the ground outside the Book Donation Center. Unfortunately, any materials left outside will be recycled, not resold, due to exposure to the elements.
We are very grateful to our generous community of readers and book donors, and we thank you for your support.
New book sale volunteers are always welcome! Volunteers are needed year-round to sort, research and price donated materials; to assist at the Westport Book Shop; provide merchandising and customer support at book sale events; and to supervise and train our employees with disabilities. For information regarding volunteer opportunities, please email: info@westportbooksales.org
In the meantime, if you have any questions you can reach out to Robin Powell at RPowell@westportlibrary.org or visit the Westport Book Sale ventures website here: https://www.westportbooksaleventures.org/
