Westport Library Book Sales are a long-standing community tradition, powered by a dedicated team of volunteers, and raising invaluable support for the Library annually. Each year, generous patrons donate tens of thousands of used books for resale to benefit the Library.
The Library's Book Sales are operated by Westport Book Sale Ventures, a nonprofit enterprise with the dual social mission of supporting the Westport Library while providing meaningful employment for adults with disabilities. For more information, visit www.westportbooksales.org
Please Note: As of July 16th, book donations have resumed. Donations were halted due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. During the Library’s Phase II of re-opening, donations will be accepted on Thursdays only from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (or when capacity is reached). (More here about the Library’s Phase II re-opening)
Book donations will be “contact-less” — donors are asked to bring their materials directly to the grey brick shed next to the Book Donation Center in the Library’s Upper Parking Lot at 20 Jesup Road. Donations will be quarantined in the shed for three days, before being handled by book sale volunteers.
New book sale volunteers are always welcome! Volunteers are needed year-round to sort, research and price donated materials; provide merchandising and customer support at book sale events; and to supervise and train our employees with disabilities. For information regarding volunteer opportunities, please email: email@example.com
