Where Westport Meets the World: Addison Moore, Westport RTM Candidate & Founder of Up | Next Teens

Westport’s own Dan Woog brings his popular blog “06880: Where Westport Meets the World” to life, via the Verso Studios at The Westport Library – recorded LIVE in the Trefz Forum! His guest this week is Addison Moore, community activist and founder of Up | Next Teens. Raised in New York, Moore discovered his passion for addressing food insecurity at the age of 6 and created his first business in the city focused on combating this issue. Moore moved to Westport in 2015 and established Up | Next Teens during his sophomore year of high school as a platform for young innovators to develop groundbreaking projects aimed at alleviating food insecurity. Currently, Moore oversees Up | Next as its president, spearheading the creation of three branches across the county. In addition to leading more than 220 of the organization's projects, events, and meetings, he led the team in achieving its ambitious goal of feeding 10,000 residents in their county in just a few months. Now, he’s in the running to represent District 9 on the Westport RTM. Ready to bring a fresh perspective to the heart of Westport, Moore remains committed to making sure local government stays accessible, responsive, and rooted in the voices of the people who live here.
