Westport’s own Dan Woog brings his popular blog “06880: Where Westport Meets the World” to life, via the Verso Studios at The Westport Library – recorded LIVE in the Trefz Forum! If you’ve tuned in before, you may be familiar with each episode’s structure: Podcast host Dan Woog interviews an array of Westport-based individuals from different walks of life to offer a glimpse into their backgrounds, work, livelihood, and insights. In this special episode, Woog flips the script and offers a glimpse into his own story, interviewed by Steve Parrish of Steve Parrish Consulting Group, LLC. Woog is a lifelong Westporter, award-winning journalist, and full time freelance writer whose work has appeared in the New York Times, USA Today, and Sports Illustrated. He is the author of 18 books with topics ranging from Westport history and current events, to LGBTQ matters, to all things soccer, with titles including ‘We Kick Balls: True Stories from the Youth Soccer Wars’, ‘Friends and Family: True Stories of Gay America’s Straight Allies’, ‘The Ultimate Soccer Almanac’ (as well as ‘The Ultimate Soccer Encyclopedia’), and many more. In 2009, Woog created his blog “06880: Where Westport Meets the World” with the intention of creating a community for Westporters old and new, near and far, through sharing stories, news, events, history and perspectives, uniting all who love the town of Westport. That community has grown exponentially over the years—thanks to Woog and his wonderful readers and viewers!
