The Westport Library and the Y’s Men of Westport/Weston are proud to present their second media panel discussion, this one focusing on how well the print, social and electronic media have covered the first 100 days of the new administration in Washington, D.C.

The adversarial relationship between political figures and the media has a long history. The recent escalation in that relationship has become contentious. The panel will explore this evolution from each of their differing perspectives, after which the audience will be invited to ask questions of the panelists.

The panelists include:

  • Congressman Jim Himes of Connecticut
  • Alisyn Camerota, author, blogger and a veteran of CNN and Fox News
  • Rebecca Surran for several decades the face and voice for local news at one of Fairfield County’s favorite news outlets, News 12
  • Jim Marpe, Westport’s multi-term first selectman
  • Aaron Weinstein, assistant professor, politics, Fairfield University

The open to the public discussion will be moderated by Y’s Men Past President John Brandt.
