This course, led by a Staples High School student, will introduce students in Grades 5-8 to the basics of financial literacy in an engaging and age-appropriate way. Students will explore topics such as saving, budgeting, and making smart financial choices through hands-on activities and real life examples. The goal is to help students build practical money skills they can use now and in the future.

Instructor Bio

Hello! My name is Aanya, and I am a high school student passionate about making education more practical and accessible. I want to start a financial literacy program at the library because I’ve come to understand how essential it is to manage money, and how little guidance we often receive. As an older sibling, I’ve seen firsthand that people are more likely to engage when learning feels relevant and interactive. That’s why I’m dedicated to creating a program that’s not only informative but also engaging and easy to relate to—something that genuinely helps, not just another lecture to sit through.

Keep an eye on the website for more summer programming led by Staples students! We will have student-led programming this August.
