Join us as Westport Poet Laureate Emeritus Jessica Noyes McEntee (pictured, above right) chats about her newly released poetry chapbook, Frida Kahlo Wakes up to Finds Diego Rivera in the Mood & Other Poems, with Westport Arts Advisory Committee co-chair Nancy Diamond (pictured, above left).

In this wonderful volume, McEntee's poems veer between lust to love, from world-weary resignation to the unmatched exuberance of a moment well lived.

McEntee was appointed by the first selectwoman to serve as Westport’s Poet Laureate, a post she held from 2022 to 2024. A magna cum laude graduate of Amherst College and the author of four novels, her debut poetry chapbook, Jackie O. Suffers Two Husbands and Other Poems, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2019. Locally, she teaches fiction writing at Westport Writers’ Workshop and runs marketing at the Pequot Library.
