Hour of Code at the Westport Library

Event Details
Celebrate Hour of Code with a free drop-in afternoon of hands-on coding and robotics at The Westport Library. No registration required. Stop by anytime and let your child explore the building blocks of computer science through games, programmable robots, and circuit-building activities designed for children ages 4 and up. Whether your child is picking up a coding toy for the first time or ready to tackle Python-based programming, this drop-in program has something for them.
About the Program
Activities are organized by age and skill level:
Ages 4 and up
Code and Go Mouse and Cubetto introduce younger learners to the foundational logic of coding through tactile, screen-free play.
Grades K through 6
Older children can dig into a rotating selection of tools including LEGO WeDo robots, where kids build and code a variety of robot animals, Ozobots, the color-reading robots that introduce Python-based programming, and LittleBits, a hands-on introduction to circuits and electronics.
All equipment is provided by the Library. Drop in any time during the event window. No prior experience or registration required.
