Opening Reception & Film Screening: Double Indemnity - Ann Chernow and Miggs Burroughs
Opening reception: Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 6:30pm, followed by a screening of the noir classic Double Indemnity in the Forum starting at 7, with an introduction by Susan Granger. Popcorn will be served!

The exhibit is on view in the Sheffer Gallery from June 7 - August 6, 2022.
Westport icons Ann Chernow and Miggs Burroughs double up in this exhibit inspired by the characters and contexts of classic film noir. Featuring Chernow’s stone lithographs and etchings of femme fatales, and Burroughs’ lenticular photographs drawn from “Double Indemnity” movie footage, the artists harness the stylistic elements of deep shadows, striated light and distorted angles that have become the hallmark of the genre. “Double Indemnity” explores the visual power found in the well-crafted deceits and betrayals that are at the black heart of this iconic movie genre.
