About this performance
The instrumental combination of flute and harp has been popular with composers for over two hundred and fifty years, and saw its peak in the salons and courts of France in the mid-18th and early 19th Centuries, mainly as a result of the harp’s most famous patron Marie Antoinette.
Joining us for this concert will be multiple award winning composer, Grammy award winning producer, and noted guitarist, Brian Keane who has scored literally hundreds of films and television shows, and produced over 150 albums, mostly from his studio in the woods of Connecticut. Hailing from Westport, Brian is currently completing the final edits to the soundtrack of Ric Burns’ two part, four hour movie, Dante: Inferno to Paradise premiering on PBS on March 18 and 19.
Brian will talk with Elizabeth Mann who has played on dozens of soundtracks about composing for movies, and introduce his work for solo harp that he wrote for Amy Berger.
All this and a free glass of wine courtesy of Mary Ellen and Jim Marpe and this promises to be a wonderful afternoon at the Westport Library.
