Longtime Westporter and owner of the Double L Market Lloyd Allen presents scenes from his musical ScreenTime. The story follows Angie, a bookworm, who meets Marshall, a coder building Angela, an AI chatbot. Marshall and Angie fall in love and not long after he introduces Angie to his influencer friends. Cautious at first, she acquiesces. With AI Angela’s guidance, she becomes an influencer extraordinaire and goes viral. So begins ScreenTime the Musical.

The production features performances from Emily Hall, daughter of Marianne Hall, as well as other notable local social media influencers.

Lloyd Allen is no stranger to the art scene. Moving to the East Coast from Texas in the early 1970s, he landed a job at the Metropolitan Opera millinery department where he resided for a number of years before going on to design and produce women’s clothing. Later, at the launch of MTV, he wrote and produced the first fashion video broadcast by the channel. Many may also know him as the author of Being Martha his fan bio on Martha Stewart.
