Tell a Yarn...

Please note: Tell a Yarn will meet in the McCall Room (#216) on March 18 & 25, and April 1.
What could be better than working on your favorite knitting or crocheting project while someone reads out loud to you?
Join our yarn circle/adult story time for your dose of productive relaxation! Right now, we are reading Ruins by Lily Brooks-Dalton — a literary novel featuring Professor Ember Agni—a rising star in archeology who is trying to balance an unfulfilling career in academia and a crumbling marriage, all while pursuing her true passion: unearthing a lost empire that no one else believes existed. The best part is that our yarn circlers get a chance to listen to the book before it is published on September 16th!
Geraldine Brooks says "Lily Brooks-Dalton's novels are rich literary feasts. They're also page turners with breathtaking twists. As we follow her complicated, flawed protagonist on the hunt for an artifact that will change history, the ground of our own understanding constantly shifts and re-forms itself. Ruins is a quest novel and a story of obsession: what is knowledge worth, and what should you sacrifice to get it?"
Bring your yarn projects to the Library on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 3 pm in the Sheffer Gallery. We'll read aloud while you work on your project. Or you can just listen — no working necessary! No registration is required, and no yarn instruction provided.
