Workshop Details

Sip and celebrate America's 250th birthday with illustrator, author, and advanced cicerone (person with an expert-level designation for beer professionals) Em Sauter, will give an illustrated presentation discussing the role of beer and brewing in American history. From the Pilgrims landing on Plymouth Rock, to the modern craft brewery movement and the beers we love today, beer has been woven through the fabric of American history.

Beer samples from Fox Farm Brewery will be served. This workshop is offered for patrons 21 and over.

About the Instructor

Called the “Bob Ross of beer” by Imbibe magazine, Em Sauter is an award winning cartoonist based in Connecticut and is the founder of the website Pints and Panels which teaches visual drinks education. She has an MFA in cartooning from the famous Center for Cartoon Studies, is an Advanced Cicerone®, holds WSET Level 2 in Spirits and Wine and is an BJCP certified international beer judge who judges in high-profile competitions worldwide. She co-hosts the All About Beer podcast and has contributed to Forbes, Brewers and Distillers International, Craft Beer and Brewing, Vinepair, Outside, The Alcohol Professor and more. She is the author of four books on beer and is currently working on her first whiskey book.
