Verso University Presents: An Overview of the Art Museum Landscape in Connecticut

June 6, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

On June 6, in partnership with the Connecticut Art Trail, Verso University launches an exploration of the Art Museum landscape in Connecticut. The Connecticut Art Trail is a nationally recognized partnership between 23 world-class museums and historic sites, created to promote Connecticut’s rich cultural assets. CT Art Trail President Carey Weber will provide an overview of the museums, the vibrancy of Connecticut’s cultural landscape, and highlights on current installations.

The inaugural event takes place on Tuesday, June 6, at 2 pm, in Brooks Place. Please register for this free event here.

In subsequent months, Verso University will bring individual curators and/or museum directors, from the CT Art Trail membership to the Library for a deeper dive into that museum’s particular mission and exhibits past and present. Participants will  have an opportunity for deeper learning and gain an insider’s view of the museums, their collections and history, along with an invitation for an on-site visit.

***

Carey Weber is the Frank and Clara Meditz Executive Director of the Fairfield University Art Museum. She currently serves as president of the Connecticut Art Trail, and as the Connecticut Representative for the Association of Academic Museums and Galleries.

Verso University programs are made possible by the generous support of the Nancy J. Beard Lifelong Learning and Education Fund.
