Verso University is thrilled to bring Matt Starr to The Westport Library to share his expertise on how to get to the NEXT LEVEL with your professional music career! The class will meet over three Tuesday evenings, March 5 to March 19, 6:30-8 pm, in the Library’s Brooks Place program room.

NEXT LEVEL will cover four key areas:

1. Money
The number one reason musicians and artists give up is that they are not able to monetize their talents. They end up getting part- or full-time jobs and their passion becomes a hobby. Learn how to set your rate, quote your rate, and get paid what you deserve.
Material: Includes New Client Script & How To Set Your Rate

2. Networking
The only way to get to the next level is by getting a next-level gig. The only person who is going to get you a next-level gig is someone who is already at the next level. So, it is time to grow your network! Learn where to find the right people, how to reach out to them, what to say, and how to get over your discomfort.
Material: Networking 101 Part I & II

3. Goal Setting
To arrive at your destination, you need to know where you are going. Learn how to set your internal GPS for success. You will learn the power of celebrating the small wins, accountability, and the process of reverse engineering your dreams.
Material: Time Management, GSD Daily Scheduler template.

4. Mindset
Everything that has ever been created or achieved was first conceived in the human brain. Our mindset permeates everything we do. Don't like the results you are getting? Look at your mindset! Outside forces have very little influence in comparison to our own thoughts. See how yours may be limiting you and how you can instantly expand your vision for yourself and your career.

About Matt Starr:

Matt is a Connecticut born musician and career coach. He has toured the world and made records with members of KISS, Guns 'n Roses, Foreigner, Whitesnake, and others. But Matt's success did not come until later in life. Although he knew what he wanted to do at 8 years old, it wasn't until his mid-30s he discovered the secret of doing things the right way.

"Once I figured out how to do things the right way, everything fell into place," said Matt. "This is the foundation of my coaching and why I'm so passionate about teaching this to other struggling artists, because I was just like them and learning this information literally changed my life."
